Last week, I found the best faux garland and am so excited to share our Christmas mantel today!
Isn’t it gorgeous? I got two to spread across our long mantel. I can’t believe how real it looks, I just love it! I added lights to make it even more festive.
My mom bought some garland, too – it’s so good! And I love that it covers the dark brown mantel (that I wish was white).
My friend Krista from The Happy Housie gathered a group of awesome bloggers today to share all of our Christmas mantels so be sure to scroll down to the end of this post for a lot of gorgeous Christmas mantel inspiration.
I really couldn’t decide this year if I wanted to go the traditional Christmas decor route or more beachy.
Ultimately, I went more traditional throughout most of our house and more beachy coastal in the dining room. (We’re almost done with our farmhouse table, I just have to paint the legs. I can’t wait to finish it and share it on the blog! You can see our dining room makeover plans here.)
I may still play around and do another Christmas mantel this year to do something coastal in our living room, too.
Our new (new-ish?) mirror is still the star of the show up there, but it’ll probably just stay there till we move. It’s too pretty to take down!
I pretty much just played around until the mantel was symmetrical but not identical. I love that the tree and Santa add pops of red (and height) to each side with the other pieces being pretty neutral/metallic. (I have most pieces linked toward the end of the post if you’re interested!)
I have all sorts of mini Christmas trees all over the house this year, and I’m loving these two on the mantel. (The green one is from a local home decor shop, and the red one was a World Market find.)
The white bottle with the burlap and the tan bottle were a DIY with clay paint. See the easy DIY faux concrete tutorial here.
The other white vase up there is a fun souvenir from our trip to Magnolia Market.

Along with twinkling lights, I always feel like a bunch of candles scream ‘Christmas.’ The gold ones are clearly festive for the season (they used to be my grandparents’), but the mercury glass votives are ones I use all the time.
The little lanterns with the beads are from Kirkland’s over the summer (but I can’t find them online anymore).
The ‘Be Merry’ sign was a sale find at Kirkland’s a few Christmases ago, and that Santa was a gift.
I filled our wooden bread bowl with red beaded garland and some gold/crystal pieces I have in our Christmas stash (also my grandparents’) for a fun little mantel centerpiece.
(Are mantel centerpieces a thing? Sure!)
Can we talk about that garland again? I’m obsessed. 🙂
