Confession time.
I think those elaborate tablescapes are totally gorgeous, but they just don’t really make a whole lot of sense for how we live.
So I keep the tablescapes pretty simple around here. I mean you need room on the table for food, yes?
Not to say I don’t swap out centerpieces or table runners pretty often around here, but that’s just because I love decorating. 🙂
Today’s tablescape is technically a spring post, but really, you could do this almost anytime!

I found this faux eucalyptus at IKEA a few weeks ago and am OBSESSED. It looks so real and is a fraction of the price of these pretty stems I was eyeing for months and debating about.
My mom (who’s apparently also my personal shopper when she’s not helping me with painting projects!) found this pretty table runner.
It’s *that* much too short for our farmhouse table (that I’m still amazed we built ourselves!!), but I loved it so I’m keeping it.
I went with our everyday dishes – green and white are perfect for spring anyway. (We love those white appetizer plates, by the way!) And some pretty paper napkins because, you know, keeping it easy!
Then I added a couple of candles to set the mood.
We’re obviously still in the process of building the benches for our table. You can see the design plans for the dining room makeover here. We’re getting there!
Does it take anyone else a million years to finish a room? Because that’s how this one is going!
I like swapping out the decor on the wine fridge, too when I switch up the centerpiece in here. I took this pitcher full of pink dried flowers from our Valentine’s Day centerpiece because I figure pink works for spring, too.
I looove that mix of marble and wood on the cake stand. If only someone would bring me a cake for it. 🙂
Here’s to easy table decorating (and room for delicious food)!

- Windows turned picture frames (DIY) with a dry brush paint treatment or these are similar
- Rug
- White curtains
- Curtain rod (or that one is sold out a lot, this one is similar)

Hey Meg – Somehow our “easy” never looks this pretty! Your faux eucalyptus doesn’t look faux at all. And the paper napkins look chambray! Wish we did live near you because we would be bringing a cake and eating it with you! Beautiful table!
GreenWithDecor says
Isn’t that faux eucalyptus amazing?! I wish we lived closer anyway, but especially if you’d bring cake – ha!

I like simple tablescapes and I’m a sucker for table runners and cake stands so I’m in love with your runner and that marble and wood cake stand. It’s all so beautiful and serene. And, yes, it takes a million years to finish a room. I have several going on at the moment. 🙂
GreenWithDecor says
Thanks, Alli! Totally agree – cake stands and table runners are the best! Haha glad we’re not the only ones in the middle of room makeovers that drag out!
