Who’s READY for warm weather?!
I can’t even raise my hand high enough over here.
Bring on the sunshine and warm weather, please.
I think we’re all ready, yes? Today’s post is part of the Color Loving Spring Home tour posted by my friend Carrie from Lovely, Etc., which means you get all sorts of colorful spring decorating ideas from a group of bloggers linked at the bottom of this post.
Perfect if you’re looking to banish those winter blues (and add in some pretty shades of blue instead).
I’m sharing our living room today and have posts planned this week and next to share the back foyer and dining room.
We haven’t changed too much in here since the big coastal rustic living room reveal, just moved some of the throw pillows around (you know, since they usually seem to end up on the floor around here), updated the mantel a bit and played around with the pieces in the wood crate shelves.

This little corner with the white painted chest and wood crates is one of our faves.
It kind of came together on accident, and we both just love how it turned out!
I found the crates at Marshall’s, but you can find similar ones here or here.
Colored glass bottles are such an easy way to decorate and usually don’t cost much. I use wine bottles or find them for cheap at Marshall’s, Homegoods or flea markets.
That gray/tan one in the back was actually an old liquor bottle I painted.
Come to think of it, that white/gray glazed tile is a little DIY project too. You would never know it was all shades of green and red at one point!
Stacking some books in the same color scheme always makes it look like you’ve got it all together, right?!
I still just love that little dog, too. Gotta have a little bit of Oakley around here.
Speaking of … she always follows me around when I’m taking pictures.
I added these little striped tan and white pillows to our growing pillow collection.
I wanted something a little different size so I could still fit them all on the couch (for a few minutes a day at least!).
Oakley will paw them out of the way when she feels like it, and I’ve given up stopping her.
If you love having flowers in the house but hate always spending money on fresh, dry some hydrangeas at the end of the summer. Ours last forever – I love them!
I corralled some of our extra pillows in this basket. I might have a problem.
That blue pillow was actually a DIY from two placemats on clearance!
Last year, we switched color schemes to add blue, and I’m loving it even more now that spring is starting to show up.
The aquas and greens just seem so perfect for warm weather.
Plus they kind of hide the dark couch that is too comfy to get rid of anytime soon.
Here’s a wider angle so you figure out where you are in the room.
I always like to see how spaces flow.
And a closeup of the corner.
Oakley loves to hang over there on her perch (the chaise).
The couch and the chaise are actually part of one big sectional, but it didn’t fit that well in this space without closing the room off, so we just use the pieces separately.
Oh and that little white side table is the best thing ever if you have a small corner like this, too.
We don’t really have room for a real table over there, but it’s the perfect portable place to plop down a drink, book, remote, whatever.
I really love our painted TV stand. It always looks kind of off in pictures with a big TV on it, but the piece is too cool to skip over. (Ignore the cords. It’s all a hot mess under there, but the cable goes in and out so we’re not touching it and making it worse.)
Here’s a peek back at the other side of the room.
Our mantel hasn’t changed too much since I shared the coastal mantel recently, but I switched a few things around. You can see more of our spring mantel here.
Here’s one last look at those gorgeous wood crates!
And our ladder shelf, which is perfect for storing extra blankets out of the way.
What are your favorite colors to decorate with? Are you into the pretty blues and greens, too?
